An Official History of the Cherikee Red Franchise

The Cherikee Red Hockey Club traces its roots to the Bad Mother Puckers, a dek hockey team formed in the summer of 2006. The Bad Mother Puckers were a rag tag group playing out of the Bridgeville Rollerplex. Their fortunes on the court were mixed as they put together a subpar record and exited the playoffs in the first round at the hands of team Jesus.

The next year however saw a change of name, venue, personnel, and fortune. The team settled on the Cherikee Red tag as a tribute to their passionate (borderline erotic and inappropriate) love for the popular cherry soda. Under the new banner they trekked to the Murraysville Dek Complex week in and week out. This season saw their fortunes change slightly as they finished the season with a winning record and fought several memorable battles- most notably against their arch foes Team Off (a bunch of college d-bags) and Bill (some old schmuck who couldn't walk right). 2007 also saw the team establish the venerable tradition of scoping chicks postgame in the Sheetz parking lot.

For the summer of 2008, the team returned again to Murrysville Dek where they had made a name for themselves the year before. The team would post a similar record that season but they certainly retained some new and indelible memories. Most notable among these memories is that of the "debacle on dek." In one game three players were ejected and one left of his own accord in an embarassing (but hilarious loss).

In 2009 Cherikee Red departed Murrysville Dek for the familiar grounds of Bridgeville. There the boys compiled a respectable record in their first year on skates and it is upon this that they seek to build for the upcoming year. 2010 holds much promise for CRHC with a retooled roster and another year of experience, the team seems to be a sure championship contender.
